1. My copier won't come to Ready
after clearing a misfeed, still shows a paper jam.
Check all doors for proper closure.
Make sure all paper is cleared from the feed path. The
internal diagnostics often require each and every door
and lever to be opened and closed in order to reset the
copier's onboard logic even though you may have removed
all of the paper. If all else fails, try turning the
copier off, unplugging it for a few seconds and plugging
it back in. If it still shows a misfeed, chances are
there is paper somewhere in the feed path that you
didn't get.
2. The preventive maintenance
indicator is on, but everything is working fine.
Even though it works, scheduled
maintenance is required, your copier may shut down after
a limited number of copies or may give you no warning at
all. Service must be completed and the technician will
need to reset the counters. Call your Digicor service
representative and we can usually tell you what needs to
be replaced based on the code you provide us.
3. A function on my copier is not
available.
You may be having a malfunction. If
a wrench icon appears on the touch screen, press it and
take note of the code listed. Check to make sure a
button is not stuck in the pressed position.
4. There's a wrench icon on my
touchscreen.
A problem exists. Call a Digicor
representative for a no cost guide to solving your
problem over the phone. Even if the machine works, you
don't want a bigger problem on your hands. Don't wait
to call.
5. Misfeed
A flashing dot or other symbol will
tell you exactly where the paper is stuck. Remove it.
Note that if you were making multiple copies you may
have other sheets of paper stopped throughout the paper
path.
6. My copier says to add toner
soon.
It's best to add it now. And be sure
that if you're using the last of your toner supply, call
to re-order replacement. It's very frustrating to run
out during a mission-critical moment and that is when it
is likely to happen.
7. The image is too light.
Assuming you tried adjusting the
lighten/darken control, there are still a couple of
possibilities. You might be low on toner, but possibly
not. And sometimes you can have this problem because of
paper that's damp from excessive humidity. It could be
an adjustment or the machine may be in need of periodic
maintenance, a new drum, developer or just a simple
cleaning.
8. The image is too dark.
Assuming you tried adjusting the
lighten/darken control, check that the glass is clean
and that your original is pressed tightly against it.
The Developer unit or Drum could also be wearing which
can cause this problem.
It may be best to call for technical assistance before
using self help methods. Call Digicor for free advice.
9. The image is blurry
Check to see that the original is
held tightly against the glass. This problem can also
occur if the paper is damp.
10. The copy has lines or dark
flecks on it.
Dirty glass can cause this problem -
even if you can't see the dirt. Try cleaning it. The
other possibility is that the original is printed on
very thin paper. Try cleaning the cover pad and putting
a clean white page behind the original.
FAXES
1. The print quality is poor.
Check the condition of the image
cartridge. Shake the cartridge from side to side a few
times to redistribute the toner. If that doesn't help,
replace the cartridge. If the problem still persists
call your service representative.
2. The telephone rings but the fax
does not pick up.
Check that the telephone line is
connected to the "FAX" jack on the fax machine. Check
that the manual answer function is not activated.
3. Can't send a fax.
Be sure your Fax is dialing
correctly - Is the phone number correct? Do you have to
dial a "9" for an outside line? Try again, and if it
still doesn't work, try calling the other fax machine on
a regular handset to see if it answers.
